LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A woman was shot and killed Wednesday morning at a school bus stop in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville Metro Police were on the scene at West Chestnut Street and 11th Street. Police said the shooting happened just before 8 a.m. Several people were at bus stops when the shooting happened. Advertisement

"It is unacceptable that people simply trying to go to school must fear for their safety because of a teenager who clearly has no regard for others, especially innocent children," LMPD said.

This bus stop is in the same area where shots were fired last Thursday, during the first day of school for Jefferson County Public Schools. Police could not say whether Wednesday's shooting was connected to the prior shooting.
