Student stands by 'principle' after attempted cash payment for parking lands him in court

A determined student who found himself in court after attempting to pay for his parking with cash has stood by his choice to challenge his penalty . Oliver Griffiths, a staunch advocate for physical money, was slapped with a $97 fine following parking at his Australian university campus this year, but chose to dispute the charge .

His challenge was based on the fact that he had tried to pay using cash but was unable to locate a parking meter which would accept it. Nevertheless, Oliver, who is in his fourth year studying law, was unsuccessful in his fight at Wollongong Local Court.
