(WFSB) - Viewers spotted a mystery object that appeared in the sky over Connecticut on Tuesday night.
Channel 3 viewers sent in photos of it through social media.
Viewers reported that the photos were taken in places like Watertown, Bristol, and Glastonbury.
Channel 3’s meteorologist went looking for answers.
They found that there was a rocket launch in Florida on Tuesday; however, they believe it was too far away to be visible in Connecticut.
It could be connected to another rocket launch in Europe, but that too was uncertain given the timing of the launch.
Posts on Space.com said people could have seen the Ariane 6 rocket that took off from French Guiana in South America. It launched at 8:37 p.m. and carried a weather satellite.
WFSB is still working to figure out what it was.
