FAIRFIELD, CT (WFSB) - The boys from Fairfield National’s Little League team have already made history. They punched their ticket to Williamsport, PA.
Now the quest begins for the ultimate prize, a Little League World Series title.
“When all your hard work pays off and you can get to a childhood dream with these guys, it’s a special thing,” coach Brian Palazzolo told Channel 3.
It’s the first time a Connecticut team has made it to Williamsport since 2017, when another Fairfield team earned a spot.
Connecticut teams have won the Little League World Series four times.
Fans may remember the last time. Back in 1989, an underdog Trumbull team led by current New York Rangers general manager Chris Drury knocked shocked a heavily-favored squad from Taiwan.
