HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — A Bradwell Institute student was taken into custody by local authorities after bringing a weapon to school.

According to a press release from the Liberty County School System (LCSS) sent Wednesday, a student told school administration that another student reportedly brought a firearm with magazine in a book bag to school property.

In coordination with law enforcement, the school administration investigated the incident and secured the weapon. The student was later taken into custody by authorities.

"At no time were students in danger during this incident," said LCSS in the release. "We also encourage parents and guardians to speak with their children about the importance of not bringing any prohibited items to school."
