MILLEN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A former Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office employee has been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for allegedly impersonating a police officer.
Wayne Leo Chance, 51, of Perkins, was arrested on Tuesday after he turned himself in to the Jenkins County Jail, according to the agency.
On Wednesday, August 6, Jenkins County deputies went to Fred Chance Road to a call involving a verbal dispute between four people and a suspect, identified as Wayne Chance.
On Thursday, August 7, while investigating the incident, the sheriff’s office was made aware of a video of the incident circulating on social media.
Due to the offender being a former Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office employee, the district attorney’s office advised them to hand the case over to GBI.
