BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WV News) — Bridgeport City Council members have called a special meeting for next Tuesday to consider paying to continue the city's internal probe that began in February.
Council members were presented with a public briefing of the investigation on Monday by William Ihlenfeld, a former U.S. attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia who now works as an investigative attorney for the Ohio-based firm Flannery Georgalis which conducted the investigation.
Council members will consider allocating up to $15,000 to complete the initial investigation, which was spawned when the city received a letter from a municipal employee who alleged violations by the city.
Ihlenfeld said he was being "intentionally vague" in his public description of the events on Monday.
