NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- A bounce headed in the right direction -- and better than Travis Kelce and 50 Cent.

That’s how North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones described her recent first-pitch experience at an Aug. 1 Cleveland Guardians game.

“It went fine,” she said. “It bounced before it got to the catcher, but it was a line drive right to him, so I’m feeling good.

“Next time, if I do it again, I’ll have a year to improve my pitch.”

The fun time came during North Olmsted Day at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario with residents andfamilies sitting in the bleachers.

The mayor said going in, she fully understood the perils of such a high-profile venture, which is why she spent the better part of the last month preparing.
