DES MOINES, Iowa (WOI) - One family is honoring a crash victim at the Iowa State Fair by hosting a rubber duck hunt, WOI reports .
In March 2024, 22-year-old Spencer Rush was killed by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle in Des Moines.
Now, his family is honoring his life at the Iowa State Fair. Rush attended the Fair since he was a child, and Rush’s family is making it their mission to keep his memory alive on the Fairgrounds.
Rush’s mother, Bettyjo Rush, is honoring her son by hosting a rubber duck hunt. This year, she hid around 130 rubber ducks on the Fairgrounds.
“We just placed them out and about,” Bettyjo said. “They will be fairly easy to see, so just keep an eye out. You never know where you might find one.”
Some ducks are out in the open, while others can be found i
