Edinburgh fire crews have raced to a blaze near a West Lothian train line on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4pm on August 13, Network Rail alerted passengers of 'major disruption' in Bathgate. It comes after a small grass fire near Hunter Grove with Scottish Fire and Rescue racing to the scene.

The blaze caused damage to the overhead fires resulting in the line being blocked. Services between Airdie and Edinburgh may be cancelled or revised. The disruption is expected until 7pm.

SFRS mobilised one appliance to the scene were crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

An SFRS statement reads: "We were alerted at 3.07pm on Tuesday, 12 August to reports of a small grass fire near Hunter Grove, Bathgate.
