SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - East of Wall is a Sundance-winning South Dakota film, coming to theaters August 15.
Director Kate Beecroft joined Dakota News Now to tell us about the film.
“So I was on a road trip and I took a wrong turn somewhere in South Dakota, and I ended up in a small town called Oelrichs. I met a woman, and she said, ‘If you want an amazing story, head east of Wall and try to find a woman named Tabatha.’ And that’s what I did. I pulled up to this ranch and saw this incredibly fierce group of teenage girls on their horses. And from there, I was just like ‘I need to make a film about you guys,’” said Beecroft.
Beecroft lived with the family for 3 years before writing the script.
The film won at the Sundance Film Festival and will be in theaters starting Augus
