NORWOOD, Ohio —

The city of Norwood is taking action to prevent flooding in the city with a multi-million-dollar project.

Flooding has been an ongoing issue in the area for decades, but people there will finally get a break once the project is finished. Advertisement

The $2.3 million project will help those who live on Elm Avenue as improved storm sewers and detention basins are completed.

One of the more memorable floods in the city came in 2016, when a few hours of rain caused several feet of flooding inside homes and even along the Norwood Lateral.

Major flooding happened again in 2021, with homes and cars becoming inundated with flood waters.

In this project, crews are working to replace the old and small 24-inch water drainage pipe with a 56-inch pipe.
