ARLINGTON, Texas — The City of Arlington is facing financial headwinds , but a major obligation is about to fall off its balance sheet, officials said.

Arlington will make its final payment to complete its $325 million contribution to the stadium. The City is paying off the debt ten years ahead of schedule, the city said.

The City said it will make the final $22.6 million payment on Friday.

Arlington paid about $490 million in principal, interest and fees for its contribution, the City said. By paying off the loan early, Arlington is saving $151 million in additional interest and fees.
