SCSO said the Regional Enforcement of All Crimes Team stopped the car for multiple traffic violations.
A K9 found a scent of narcotics, leading to the discovery of 5 pounds of methamphetamine and one kilogram of fentanyl inside the car.
"That’s equivalent to over 22,000 'user' doses of methamphetamines and a 500,000 lethal doses of fentanyl," the sheriff's office said.
The driver and the passenger, both from San Bernardino, were arrested on multiple felony charges, including drug trafficking.
