An Edinburgh man has been rushed to hospital after a ' disturbance ' on a busy street.

Around 10.45pm on Tuesday, August 12, police swarmed Clerk Street after reports of the incident.

Pictures taken from the scene show police outside The Dog House pub. One male was dispatched to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

Blue lights were spotted from a distance away while two response vehicles were at the scene.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland statement reads: "Around 10.45pm on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance at a premises on Clerk Street, Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and one man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
