(CNN) - Taco Bell is set to unveil a new, thirst-quenching item on its menu.

Baja Midnight, a purple-colored Mountain Dew Baja Blast drink, hits the menu board on Thursday.

Baja Midnight is the first, permanent new Baja Blast flavor in two decades.

The fast-food chain said the drink mixes the taste of passion fruit with a twist of lime.

The Baja Blast line debuted at Taco Bell in 2004.

It marked a then-unique deal between a beverage maker and a fast-food chain restaurant.

On a related note, Taco Bell is also focused on opening 30 beverage-based Live Mas Café locations nationwide before the end of the year.

The beverage category is growing faster than the entire fast-food industry.
