LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man who went missing at Lake Mead was found two days later, stranded on a steep hill with no shirt, shoes, food or water.

Information provided by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) Search and Rescue team recounts the rescue and provides some detail on a disjointed search effort involving the National Park Service and MCSO.

The man's identity and current condition were not disclosed. The high temperature at Lake Mead was 105 to 106 degrees on the days he was missing.

The 42-year-old man went missing near Kingman Wash on the Arizona side of Lake Mead around 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, while his family was celebrating the birthday of a family member. When it was time to leave, no one could find the man.
