The former leader of Tulsa’s emergency management response services has resigned ahead of his first appearance in court Wednesday since his arrest on child pornography charges .

Joseph Kralicek, 45, former executive director of the Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency, said nothing during his brief court appearance. A judge continued Kralicek’s arraignment until Sept. 10 at the request of his attorney.

The Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners are scheduled to meet late Wednesday afternoon to discuss Kralicek’s resignation.

Prosecutors charged Kralicek on Aug. 7 with one count of possession of child pornography.
