FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WFLA) — A celebratory trip to Florida ended in tragedy when a 14-year-old girl was killed and her 16-year-old sister was critically injured in a personal watercraft crash.
NBC affiliate WTVJ reported that the girls slammed their watercraft into a dock in the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the news station, 14-year-old Rachel Nisanov was killed in the crash. Aviva Nisanov, 16, who was operating the personal watercraft, was taken to a hospital.
"They were coming back to the dock from what I understand, and they lost control and they hit the dock, and they both went flying and hit the dock," Yonah Nisanov, the girls' brother, told WTVJ.
