LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ford dealerships in both Kentucky and Indiana believe a $30,000 price tag for a newly announced all-electric vehicle could be the turning point for consumer demand.
Ford CEO Jim Farley revealed this week the company is launching a new EV midsize pickup truck to be built at the Louisville Assembly Plant and hit the market in 2027. He says they'll lower costs by radically changing the assembly lines there to be more efficient.
Shane Collins, general manager at Bill Collins Ford in Louisville, is encouraged by the announcement.
"If you can get into a new vehicle for $30,000, it's going to be a good price point," he told WHAS11 on Tuesday.
