An Oakland County man accused of trafficking a woman at a Madison Heights hotel has been charged, officials said Wednesday.

Gerod Remond Penick, 33, was arraigned Tuesday in 43rd District Court in Madison Heights, according to court records.

He is charged with human trafficking-causing injury, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, accepting earnings from prostitution, resisting a police officer, and assault and battery, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

A judge set Penick's bond at $250,000, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

The judge scheduled his next court hearing for Aug. 20, court records said.
