Give the prize to linebacker Justin Jefferson, at least according to two teammates. Jefferson, a senior, delivered a hit in practice Tuesday that resonated with the entire Crimson Tide defense, according to two starters.

"That hit yesterday was pretty crazy," said middle linebacker Deontae Lawson. "We were in a goal line (situation), and they ran like a lead play and Justin just shot the A-gap, and you heard it."

Along with Lawson, defensive tackle Tim Keenan also endorsed Jefferson's emphatic tackle as the hit of camp to date, along with a hit by freshman cornerback Dijon Lee. So who was on the receiving end on the Jefferson jolt? That would be running back Richard Young, who is vying for playing time behind starter Jam Miller.
