SNELLVILLE, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A suspect is in custody after SWAT was called to an overnight situation in Snellville, according to police.

Officers responded to calls of gunfire at a home off Pate Road, where a resident reported that a family member was firing shots.

When officers arrived, they were able to safely get people out of the home. However, the suspect refused to come out, which led to Gwinnett County SWAT being called to help.

The suspect was taken into custody, according to police. No word has been given on what charges the suspect is facing.

Although there is no threat to the public at this time, Snellville police say there will be “a small law enforcement presence until investigators are done collecting evidence.”

Lawrenceville police also responded to the scene.
