The Hidalgo County man who coerced a teenager into sexual acts in exchange for money and THC cartridges has been sentenced.
Rogelio Pruneda III pleaded guilty on June 2 and was sentenced to nine years in prison for committing sexual acts with a teenager he met through a relative, a minor, and distributing videos he recorded of the two together, according to a news release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas.
Pruneda was further ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to the victim and serve an additional five years on supervised release once he’s out of prison.
During his hearing, the court heard Pruneda was engaging in similar conduct with his minor relative and used that relationship to recruit the victim.
