The mother of a young boy injured by a falling drone during the 2024 Holiday Drone Show at Lake Eola has filed a lawsuit.
The mother claimed her son sustained "traumatic permanent injuries requiring medical treatment."
The victim underwent open-heart surgery after a drone hit him.
According to the lawsuit, multiple drones malfunctioned and went off their coordinated flight path.

The City of Orlando contracted Sky Elements to perform the drone show on December 21.
The Holiday Drone Show features a display of synchronized drones flying in formation to create holiday-themed designs in the night sky.
The boy's family is suing the City of Orlando, Sky Elements, and the drone manufacturer for negligence.
