KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Injury availability reports are a common practice in professional sports. Soon, they’ll be common throughout all of power conference college sports.
According to a report from On3’s Brett McMurphy , the Big 12 will begin releasing publicly available injury reports for all conference football games starting this season.
McMurphy said Big 12 athletic directors voted to start using the reports for football, and men’s and women’s basketball league games.
For football, daily reports will be required for each school three days before game day and a final one will be shared 90 minutes before kickoff.
In 2023, the Big Ten became the first league to require football injury reports. The SEC followed suit in 2024. This season, the Big 12 and ACC will begin doing them.
