SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A death investigation is underway after officers in the area east of Old Town Scottsdale were informed of the discovery of a dead body.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Monday, police officers were flagged down by a citizen in the area of 78th Street and Camelback Road to report that a body had been found outside. Officers confirmed the individual was deceased.

Detectives responded to the scene and no signs of foul play were observed. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine how the individual died.

An identity for the deceased person was not disclosed.
