WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – President Donald Trump and European leaders discussed the war in Ukraine during a virtual meeting Wednesday.
President Trump pushed for a ceasefire to be on the agenda when he meets with Russia’s president in Alaska, but Ukraine’s leader says the world shouldn't be fooled by Vladimir Putin’s tactics.
In a video call with European leaders President Trump gave a preview of his upcoming meeting with Putin and said peace is on the agenda but if not, "there will be very severe consequences."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also on the call. He says he supports the meeting, but Zelenskyy says there is no sign that Russia is preparing to end the war.
