A road in Exeter was left blocked in both directions this afternoon after a car fire.

Traffic and travel monitoring system, Inrix, first reported the incident at around 4.40pm on Wednesday (August 13).

It reported the car fire has broken out on Mount Pleasant Road, from the B3212 Pinhoe Road to Prince Charles Road.

There was slow traffic in the area as a result.

Inrix confirmed just before 8pm that the road was clear.
