KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. — A northern Indiana man was arrested Saturday when police say he was found hiding in a tree after fleeing from a "chaotic scene."

According to a release from Indiana State Police, on Aug. 9, troopers were called to assist deputies with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office in locating a suspect who had allegedly threatened a victim with an axe, then stole a Ford pickup truck before using it to ram into another vehicle in the 9000 block of North State Road 13 .

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Michael Baker, of Cromwell, had reportedly fled the scene.

When troopers arrived, they found tire tracks that led them into a wooded area just north of the scene. State police troopers and sheriff's deputies searched the scene and eventually found the stolen Ford picku
