RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man is facing charges after police said he was involved in the shooting death of a 26-year-old in Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the shooting happened on June 19 in the 4500 block of Colscott Place. Officers said they found Rakel Olajuwan Kirtz, 26, at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

Kirtz was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Authorities in New York City said officers arrested Justin Malik York, 30, in connection with the shooting. He is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

York is waiting to be extradited back to North Carolina.
