PORTLAND, Ore (KPTV) - The driver accused of causing a deadly crash in the King neighborhood last Thursday has died, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Police say 69-year-old Curtis Leroy Palmer, of Portland, died at the hospital on Tuesday, Aug. 12. His family has been told about his death.

According to police, Palmer was the driver of the silver Ford Escape SUV that hit two people and crashed into three other vehicles along Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Aug. 7.

One man, 49-year-old DaRon V. Craig, died at the scene.

Police said that after an initial investigation, they do not believe the crashes were intentional.
