SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) - On Sunday, crews responded to a large fire involving two mobile homes, a carport, multiple vehicles, and several large cedar trees, according to the Salem Fire Department.

The first crew responded at about 6:36 p.m. to find heavy fire conditions and called for a second alarm, bringing more engines, a ladder truck, and specialty units.

Crews worked to stop the spread to nearby homes and extinguish spot fires that were reported up to 500 feet away. There were power lines down at the scene, which initially limited access to parts of the buildings.

One firefighter was taken to a hospital for a heat-related injury and later released.

Four adults, four children, and three pets were displaced.

The estimated damages are $600,000.
