Do you have plans to be out on the town Friday night? Pack a jacket, or even the dreaded umbrella, because most of Friday will be very wet.

The National Weather Service is watching a “robust” upper-level trough paired with a moisture-rich Pacific front moving into the region with an unseasonably strong round of rainfall, breezy southerly winds, and cooler-than-average temperatures Friday into early Saturday.

Rain was falling mostly on Portland’s west side by 5 a.m. Friday and showers are likely through about 5 p.m. The high temp will reach near 76 degrees.
