JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A Jefferson County mother has entered a plea of not guilty in the deaths of her children.

Investigators said 36-year-old Ashley Parmeley shot her 9-year-old daughter, Scartlet, and drowned her 2-year-old son in May of 2024.

According to court records, Parmeley shot her daughter in St. Francois County, put her body in the car, and drove to a resort in Jefferson County and drowned her son. Investigators said Parmeley then drove to the Festus Police Department and confessed.
