Picking berries has a cult following. What used to be feeding the family has now become all about the experience. Picking berries instills a sense of nostalgia, transporting people back to a simpler time without cell phones, Wi-Fi, and the cares of the world. Childhood memories of filling their metal buckets in the woods, along railroad tracks, while connecting with some of their favorite people. More than food on the table, they are checking the box for their summer bucket lists. That also includes, of course, social media posts about their visits and what deliciousness they create from their bucket of berries.
