ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — James Cook was prepared to continue his hold-in.

"However long it took," Cook said. "But we got it done so. We don't need to be discussing that and let's play football.

And now, Cook will playing football for the Bills for the foreseeable future.

Cook signed a four-year extension with the Bills on Wednesday, keeping him in Buffalo through 2029. The deal is worth a reported $48 million dollars, with $30 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"Good to be back out there with my team," Cook said after Wednesday's practice. "Just get another opportunity to do what I love to do."

The extension provides a resolution to a contract situation that saw several twists and turns.
