WATCH: Dog left in crate after being dumped outside Pinal County animal shelter

CASA GRANDE, AZ (AZFamily) — An elderly dog is now receiving care after he was dumped outside of a Pinal County shelter this week.

On Tuesday, surveillance video captured a man leaving a dog outside of the Pinal County Animal Care and Control shelter in Casa Grande. Instead of walking to the entrance, the video shows the man leaving the pup in a crate outside the gates before driving off.

The dog stayed outside, stuck in the crate, for two hours until a staff member found him.

On Facebook , the shelter explained that the owner didn’t call, make a surrender appointment or even walk inside to speak with a staff member before leaving the dog.

“Instead, he chose the one option that endangers an animal,” the shelter said on social media.
