CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) - A southern Kentucky woman is facing a vehicular homicide charge after a deadly crash.

Police in Laurel County say 55-year-old Kimberly Hedrick was drunk when her Chevrolet Tahoe hit a car head-on.

That crash happened about midnight on August 1.

“So unfortunately, that morning on August first, I no longer have a mom,1” said Grace Hatfield, who is getting used to a new normal without her beloved mother.

“She was the spunkiest woman you would ever meet. She had a true servant’s heart. She loved people. She loved to care for people,” said Hatfield.

Benita Vickers died early on August 1 after police say the Tahoe driven by Hedrick crossed the center line of American Greeting Card Road and slammed into Vickers’ Aveo. Hedrick was charged with vehicular homicide.
