LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It’s a fear that too often becomes a reality at schools across the country: weapons getting into schools.
Last year, WKYT’s Samantha Valentino uncovered numerous incidents of weapons making their way into Fayette County Public Schools.

At the time, she tried to sit down with Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins to ask him about the number of weapons getting into his schools, but her request for an interview was denied. She recently sat down with him to discuss a variety of topics , including school safety.
