DAVIDSON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A new study finds many people living in the Town of Davidson are struggling to survive financially.

The study, completed by the Development Finance Initiative at UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Government, found that 82 percent of low-to-moderate-income people living in Davidson are burdened by the cost of being able to live there. The study shows about a quarter of the town’s residents fall in that category.

Jamie Smith is a district manager for Dodson Pest Control. He was working in town when we met him.

“I have multiple employees that’s always looking for affordable housing,” Smith said. “We actually try to hire people that’s close to where they’re going to work.”
