JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Police say a 14-year-old is facing charges related to the shooting at the Jacksonville mall earlier this month.
This morning, Jacksonville police say they were able to take the teen into custody for the shooting that happened on August 2nd with help from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina.
Police say they were called to the shooting around 8:15 p.m., which they say happened in the mall’s parking lot.
19-year-old Kendal Freeman and two children were all found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The three were hospitalized and are stable, according to police.
Police say their preliminary investigation found that the suspect was wearing a ski mask when he approached the victims and opened fire before leaving the area.
