CLEVELAND — Jose Ramirez and the Guardians entered Wednesday on the doorstep of being in position for a playoff spot as they take on the Miami Marlins at Progressive Field .

Cleveland opened the Aug. 13 slate just one game behind the New York Yankees for the final Wild Card spot in the American League. They're also six games back of the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central, a deficit that was at one point 15.5 games.
