Las Vegas cardiologist Dr. James Lally announced Wednesday his run for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District seat in the 2026 midterm elections, mounting a Democratic primary challenge against incumbent U.S. Rep. Susie Lee.
He criticized Lee’s record on immigration and her stance on the Israel–Hamas conflict in Gaza. Lally also accused Lee of failing to oppose what he called President Donald Trump’s “unconstitutional” overreach.
Lee has been in Congress since 2019; she defeated RockAthena Brittain, a transgender music recording artist, in the 2024 Democratic primary with 92% of the vote. Lee then went on to win reelection.
