ST. CHARLES — A City of St. Charles School District teacher was charged Wednesday with having images of child sexual abuse on his phone.

Louis Nicholas Saubers III was charged with one count of possession of child pornography after St. Charles County Police arrested him at St. Charles High School, on Tuesday, charging documents say.

Saubers, 45, taught speech and theater at St. Charles High, the school's staff directory shows. He worked for the City of St. Charles School District for 14 years, according to the Post-Dispatch's public pay database .

According to court records, police said they started investigating Saubers in June after Sniffies, a hookup app used primarily by gay and bisexual men, detected an image connected to Saubers' account suspected to be child pornography. Police
