Yesterday had some very heavy rainfall. One southern Michigan city had its second heaviest daily rain for August.

The rainfall yesterday brought some rain to most of Lower Michigan. There were streaks of two inches to nearly four inches of rain.

Meanwhile the thought that drought areas keep missing the rain kind of worked yesterday. The driest area of Michigan around Holland only had around one-half inch of rain.

The yellow areas and orange areas had at least 1.5 inches of rain yesterday.

The heaviest rain was 3.73 inches at Battle Creek. This rain amount was the heaviest rain on record for Battle Creek for August 12.

The rain amount was even more meaningful since the 3.73 inch rain was the second heaviest 24-hour rain for any August day
