WILMINGTON — Avelo Airlines will double nonstop flights between Wilmington and Orlando and start up its seasonal flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on October 1.

The airline is adding new Wednesday and Saturday flights to go along with its current Monday and Friday flights to Orlando.

According to the Delaware River and Bay Authority, Orlando is Avelo Airlines’ most popular destination, with over 20,000 passengers traveling between Wilmington and Orlando so far this year.

Avelo’s flights to San Juan will resume on Wednesdays and Saturdays after a month-long break in September. The airline first added Puerto Rico to its roster in 2023 based on the Delaware’s Hispanic population and its destination popularity.
