MADISON (WKOW) — A new state law lets advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) practice independently in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin communities will now be able to fill a gap in critical care after Gov. Tony Evers (D) signed the APRN Modernization Act into law Friday .
Dr. Jill Guttormson is the dean of Marquette University College of Nursing with a background in critical care nursing.
She was part of a lobbying effort when the bill was first being introduced early on to get it passed. She says the new legislation will not take away from the quality of care.
