The Camas/Washougal Crushers won their first game in bracket play Wednesday at the 14-under Babe Ruth World Series.

The Crushers beat Mickey Owen Baseball School 11-0 to advance to the semifinals of the tournament in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Camas/Washougal will face either Hilo, Hawaii or Tallahassee, Florida on Friday for a berth in Saturday’s championship game.

The Crushers were among nine teams to reach the championship bracket after going 3-1 in pool play.

Nash McCarthy allowed just four hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Camas/Washougal tallied 16 hits, including three each for Issac Thoune and Thomas Eckman.

Hudson Shaw, Holden Hille, and Thoune each drove in two runs. Tags Sports
