Rockford Christian won't be playing football this year.

The Royal Lions are unable to even field an 8-man football team this year, Rockford Christian High School's athletic department announced on Wednesday.

Just before last season began, the Royal Lions dropped from 11-man regular IHSA football to 8-man football due to a low number of players that came out.
